About the artwork

The Antahkarana

Antahkarana (Antakarana) is an ancient sacred symbol used in meditation, Reiki, and energy practices as a bridge between the physical mind and the Higher Self. Often described as a “rainbow bridge” of consciousness, it is associated with spiritual alignment, energetic balance, and the cultivation of a calmer, more centered inner state.

From Sanskrit:

Antar = inner / interior
Karana = instrument / cause / faculty

Together, it means inner instrument or inner bridge of consciousness. In other words, a bridge between the lower mind and the higher mind, linking the brain, the ordinary mind, and the soul.

In spiritual practices, Antahkarana is commonly used for:

Meditation and focus
Supporting prayer, Reiki, or healing sessions
Strengthening intention and inner clarity
Connecting to the Higher Self

Antakarana is also regarded as a universal spiritual tool that works independently of any single religion or lineage. This symbol appears on many Buddhist and Hindu statues or parchments, and according to more modern interpretations, it is believed to have originated millions of years ago in Lemuria, on the Mu continent, as a way for humanity to reconnect with their Higher Selves.
